Job summary

JE Dunn Construction’s Advanced Facilities Group is seeking a Safety Specialist (CORE) to coordinate and implement field safety programs on routine construction projects, ensuring compliance with laws and company policies.

You will conduct site walk-through inspections, perform safety audits, coordinate onboarding and drug/alcohol policy compliance, monitor contractor safety programs, and participate in project meetings to address safety matters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety/health-related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• 0–2 years construction or related experience required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement field safety program for routine construction projects.
• Conduct regular walk-through inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance with laws and company policies.
• Conduct safety audits on assigned projects and document abatement recommendations.
• Coordinate new hire orientation and oversee drug and alcohol policy compliance.
• Monitor prime contractor and subcontractors’ safety programs.
• Attend project meetings to discuss safety-related matters.
• Support field leadership in safety program implementation and chair the project safety committee.
• Assist in investigating project-related accidents and determine root causes.
• Coordinate with injured employees for timely return-to-work and compile progress reports.
• Monitor site safety incentive program.
