Job summary

Sheakley is seeking a hands-on Site Safety Manager to support the installation of a new manufacturing line in Lawrence, KS. This contract role requires active field leadership in an occupied facility and close collaboration with craft personnel, subcontractors, supervision, and client representatives to keep work safe and compliant.

You will conduct daily safety audits, lead orientations, and toolbox talks while maintaining OSHA standards and project requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Site Safety Manager on large or complex construction projects.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Experience conducting safety audits, orientations, and toolbox talks.
• Strong field presence and leadership abilities.
• Experience working around multiple contractors and active construction operations.
• Ability to manage safety documentation and project compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily site safety audits and inspections
• Lead employee and contractor safety orientations
• Facilitate toolbox talks and safety meetings
• Maintain a highly visible presence throughout active work areas
• Monitor demolition and installation activities
• Identify hazards and coordinate corrective actions
• Review safe work practices and project requirements with crews
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific requirements
• Coordinate safety activities with project management and field supervision
• Support incident investigations and corrective action implementation
• Maintain required safety documentation and reporting
• Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the project
