Job summary

Onni Contracting Inc. is seeking a Safety Manager in Los Angeles to lead site safety programs and regulatory compliance across our multifamily and tenant improvement projects.

You will develop and enforce safety plans, manage incident investigations, and coordinate with Cal/OSHA to maintain safe operations. You will mentor field crews, oversee life-safety systems, and drive a proactive safety culture with KPI tracking and regular leadership reporting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction or property management experience.
• 3+ years of safety management and training experience.
• Solid understanding of OSHA and industry specific regulations.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific safety plans for each assigned multifamily mid-rise and tenant improvement project.
• Maintain and update Onni's Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) in accordance with Cal/OSHA requirements.
• Lead safety inspections and oversee field operations (scaffolding, fall protection, cranes, excavation, etc.).
• Coordinate with Cal/OSHA during inspections and respond to citations or concerns.
• Prepare monthly safety reports and track KPIs (TRIR, DART, near-misses).
