Job description

Hill International is seeking a Construction Safety Manager in Seattle, Washington

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety and Health, Engineering, Environmental Sciences or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional safety experience on heavy construction projects, preferably in a rail/transit environment.
  • Strong experience in safety incident reporting and daily construction reporting for multiple projects.
  • Valid Safety Management Specialist (SMS) certificate or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) issued by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) or Certified Safety Manager Construction (CSMC) certificate issued by the National Association of Safety Professionals (NASP).
  • Current First Aid/CPR/AED Certification.
  • Must be willing to relocate or travel to project site.

The salary range for this position is $95,000 - $175,000. The offered salary will be based on the applicants qualifications, education, experience and work location.

Responsibilities
  • Audit and report on the contractor’s compliance with the client’s contractual requirements and safety programs, and the contractor’s approved safety plans. Procure all necessary safety equipment for CMC/DBPM staff and train all staff in proper use.
  • Maintain records of all CMC/DBPM staff safety training.
  • Review Contractor Safety Plans and ongoing safety performance.
  • Perform management oversight of construction activity on behalf of the client.
  • Monitor compliance to all current OSHA requirements that relate to the specific construction projects.
  • Perform daily safety reviews of work in progress in accordance with current Safety Regulations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Perform ongoing construction site safety inspections and generate daily safety report for all site visits.
  • Perform review of contractor submitted incident reports, participate in safety stand-downs, and prepare and submit lessons learned to Program Safety Manager.
  • Monitor adherence to zero tolerance and corrective action policy for workers found not in compliance with the Program’s safety policy.
