Job summary

Hill International is seeking a Construction Safety Manager in Seattle, Washington. The role focuses on auditing safety compliance, maintaining training records, and overseeing construction safety across projects.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of professional safety experience on heavy construction projects, preferably in a rail/transit environment.
  • Valid Safety Management Specialist (SMS) certificate or CHST certificate by BCSP or CSMC certificate by NASP.
  • Current First Aid/CPR/AED Certification.
  • Willingness to relocate or travel to project site.

Responsibilities

  • Audit and report on the contractor's compliance with the client's contractual requirements and safety programs, and the contractor's approved safety plans.
  • Maintain records of all staff safety training.
  • Review Contractor Safety Plans and ongoing safety performance.
  • Perform management oversight of construction activity on behalf of the client.
  • Monitor compliance with current OSHA requirements that relate to the specific construction projects.
  • Perform daily safety reviews of work in progress in accordance with current Safety Regulations and SOPs.
  • Perform ongoing construction site safety inspections and generate daily safety reports for all site visits.
  • Review contractor-submitted incident reports, participate in safety stand-downs, and prepare and submit lessons learned to the Program Safety Manager.
  • Monitor adherence to zero-tolerance and corrective action policies for workers not in compliance with the Program's safety policy.

  • Maintain records of all CMC/DBPM staff safety training.
  • Review Contractor Safety Plans and ongoing safety performance.

  • Monitor compliance with current OSHA requirements that relate to the specific construction projects.
  • Perform daily safety reviews of work in progress in accordance with current Safety Regulations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

  • Review contractor-submitted incident reports, participate in safety stand-downs, and prepare and submit lessons learned to the Program Safety Manager.

  • Current First Aid/CPR/AED Certification.
  • Willingness to relocate or travel to project site.
Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $95,000 - $175,000. The offered salary will be based on the applicant's qualifications, education, experience, and work location.
