Job summary

Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc is seeking a Health & Safety Supervisor to lead project-specific health and safety initiatives, ensuring adherence to ESS standards, client expectations, and regulatory requirements across active sites near Monroe, LA.

You will develop plans, conduct orientations, lead audits and investigations, and mentor field staff while collaborating with project managers, subcontractors, and safety personnel to foster a culture of safety excellence on every phase of construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and relevant work experience.
• CSP/ASP/CHST certification required for the role.
• OSHA 30-Hour certification within the past 3 years.
• Strong knowledge of safety principles and regulations.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
• Experience developing and implementing safety programs.
• Experience in conducting H&S audits and investigations.
• Ability to work day and night shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and apply expert knowledge of ESS H&S standards and goals.
• Develop, implement, and maintain a project-specific Health and Safety Management Plan.
• Lead site safety orientations for employees, subcontractors, and visitors.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, federal/state/local requirements, and client safety standards.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and hazard assessments to identify unsafe conditions.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, injuries, and property damage events and recommend preventive measures.
• Collaborate with project leadership to address safety concerns and improve site performance.
• Monitor project safety metrics and report to leadership; facilitate toolbox talks and safety meetings.
