Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. (ESS) is seeking a Health & Safety Supervisor to lead project-specific safety initiatives, ensure compliance with ESS policies, and partner with project teams to maintain a safe, productive work environment.

The role requires a four-year degree, CSP/ASP/CHST certification, OSHA 30‑Hour, and experience in safety programs, audits, investigations, and incident response. The position is located near Monroe, LA and involves coordinating with clients and crews across sites.

Qualifikationen

• Accredited four-year bachelor’s degree in a related field and six years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to ten years if non-degreed
• CSP, ASP or CHST certification required
• OSHA 30‑Hour within the past 3 years
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job; strong understanding of safety principles and regulations
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience in developing and implementing safety programs
• Experience in conducting H&S audits and investigations
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with team members at all levels
• Ability to work both day and night shifts in alignment with crew schedules

Aufgaben

• Lead project-specific Health & Safety initiatives and ensure compliance with policies and regulatory requirements
• Develop, implement, and maintain a project-specific Health and Safety Management Plan
• Promote ESS H&S standards across projects to ensure a safe and productive environment
• Prepare, maintain, and communicate records and reports to meet corporate/regulatory requirements
• Lead site-specific safety orientations for employees, subcontractors, and visitors
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and client safety standards
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and hazard assessments and implement corrective actions
• Investigate incidents and recommend preventive measures
• Serve as liaison with clients, insurers, and regulatory agencies
• Support leadership in creating a culture of H&S excellence throughout construction
• Partner with project managers and subcontractors to address safety concerns
• Monitor safety metrics and provide recommendations to achieve safety goals
• Facilitate toolbox talks, pre-task plans, safety meetings, and engagement activities
• Mentor field supervision and junior safety staff
• Participate in planning meetings and provide safety guidance
• Maintain communications with client reps and project staff for client satisfaction
• Establish performance criteria and ensure compliance across ESS and authorities
• Analyze problems and propose solutions
• Organize multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines
• Plan and organize own work assignments
• Meet attendance and punctuality expectations
• Other duties as assigned
