Job summary

Williams Companies, Inc. in Tulsa, OK is seeking a Manager of Construction Safety to lead safety on major capital projects.

You will guide a team of safety professionals and serve as the primary safety voice across the project lifecycle, working with project teams and contractors to embed safety into every phase. The role emphasizes partnering with Project Execution, Supply Chain, and Operations, establishing risk-based safety plans, and ensuring compliance and continuous safety improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Health & Safety, or related field.
• Seven years of experience in construction, project execution, health and safety, or related field.
• Professional safety certifications such as CSP, ASP, SMP, CHST or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partners early with Project Execution to evaluate safety programs, culture, performance history, and capabilities; recommends bid and contract safety requirements.
• Leads and develops a team of Construction Safety professionals through coaching and performance management.
• Establishes risk-based safety strategies that align oversight with project complexity, contractor performance, and evolving risks.
• Serves as the single point of accountability for construction safety across the project lifecycle; aligns safety expectations with project teams and contractors.
• Partners with Supply Chain to manage preferred third-party safety providers; ensures qualified coverage.
• Monitors contractor safety performance and compliance using data, field feedback, and incident findings to drive improvement.
• Collaborates with Field Health & Safety and Operations to allocate resources and ensure smooth handoff to operations.
