Job summary

The Weitz Company is seeking an experienced safety professional to lead on-site construction safety programs in Milwaukee. You will implement regulatory changes, advise on work practices, and coordinate safety inspections and incident investigations across projects.

Strong leadership, excellent communication and writing skills, and a track record of reducing risk on complex data center or construction sites are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Work in a formal safety capacity and four years of construction safety experience.
• Data center construction experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Keep stakeholders informed of safety regulatory changes and assist with implementing them in the field.
• Provide safety counsel, advice, and recommendations on programs, rules, procedures, and workers' compensation law.
• Support site inspections by third-party representatives and OSHA inspectors.
• Coordinate safety inspections and verify corrective actions are adequate.
• Ensure employees can stop unsafe work until resolution.
• Coordinate Safety Committee and promote employee-supported safety programs.
• Present incident investigation facts for evaluation and action.
• Communicate safety issues and best practices across the organization.
• Provide high-quality safety training.
• Verify incident investigations and How It Happened reports for accuracy.
• Inspect all construction projects to evaluate compliance.
• Conduct industrial hygiene assessments (noise, air, etc.).
• Assist proposals by detailing capabilities in client responses.
• Contribute to creation of project safety plans.
• Represent the business in OSHA and other hearings.
• Support administration of Vehicle Safe Driver Policy and Drug/Alcohol Policy.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
