Job summary

Suffolk is seeking a Safety Supervisor to partner with site leadership to enforce Corporate Safety and Health policies and drive the safe execution of projects. You will oversee safety on a project or multi-site basis, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and company procedures.

The role requires field safety experience, OSHA training expertise, and a proactive, organized approach to risk management, incident investigations, and training delivery.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of related work experience in field of Construction Health and Safety.
• Working knowledge of Federal and State safety and health regulations, and local building codes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction or Safety preferred but not required.
• Qualified OSHA Construction Industry Outreach Trainer.
• Willingness to achieve CHST designation within two years.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site inspections and record safe and unsafe conditions.
• Administer project safety binder and document storage systems.
• Coordinate and facilitate subcontractors’ Pre-Construction Safety Planning Meetings.
• Act as a resource for OSHA and NFPA/HC regulations for field operations.
• Review Subcontractors’ Site Specific Safety Programs and JHA prior to mobilization.
• Attend and monitor toolbox talks for documentation and quality.
• Perform accident investigations and collect incident reporting documents.
• Coordinate with Regional Risk Manager on claims trends and risk planning.
• Ensure subcontractor training compliance related to scope of work.
