Job summary

Safety Management Group seeks a local Safety Advisor – Construction – Troy, MO. The role focuses on placing safety at the forefront, prioritizing client needs, and working effectively in a team.

The position involves onsite construction safety leadership, training, and collaboration with contractors to implement safety programs. The associate will serve as a subject matter expert for contractors performing construction activities at the facility, working 40–50 hours per week, with travel as

Qualifications

• Five+ years of construction safety experience.
• OSHA 510 - Construction certification required.
• Degree in Safety or related field preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Willing to work weekends as necessary.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Professional certification preferred (CSP, ASP, CHST, CIH, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Conduct site safety observations and document findings.
• Oversee all construction contractors and projects onsite.
• Facilitate corrective measures.
• Work with contractors to implement safety management systems.
• Lead weekly safety training (orientation, LOTO, fall protection, JHA).
• Provide safety leadership for projects.
• Lead daily contractor safety meetings.
• Review contractor JHAs for completeness and accuracy.
• Lead, support, and participate in safety initiatives.
• Promote client core values: Motivate, Collaborate, Appreciate, Innovate, Relate.
• Collaborate with another Safety team member.
