Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Construction Safety Specialist to support NY/NJ area construction sites. You will ensure contractors comply with OSHA, FDNY, NYC DOB and local regulations, conduct investigations, and drive fire safety programs across Port Authority and leaseholder projects.

The role requires at least 5 years in construction safety, a NYC DOB Site Safety Supervisor Card, OSHA 30-hour certification, and a valid driver's license, with strong communication and organizational skills for

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in construction safety and incident investigation.
• Valid NYC DOB Site Safety Supervisor Card (SST).
• OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety certification.
• Valid driver''s license.
• Experience on major capital construction projects.
• Knowledge of OSHA 1926, NYC DOB, FDNY and local codes.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with safety software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Review contracts and drawings to ensure safety compliance.
• Ensure contractors comply with OSHA, FDNY, NYCDOB and local regs.
• Review Health and Safety Plan submittals.
• Audit operations to ensure safety program compliance.
• Provide daily Port Authority safety reports with photos and findings.
• Conduct accident, incident and near-miss investigations; root-cause analysis.
• Provide Preliminary Information Reports on investigations.
• Collaborate with Port Authority reps, insurers and stakeholders.
