Job summary

JE Dunn Construction in Tempe, AZ is seeking a Senior Safety Specialist to coordinate and implement field safety programs on routine and complex construction projects. You will conduct inspections, document hazardous conditions, write reports and perform trend analysis, supporting the company's safety strategy and values.

You will lead safety meetings, oversee drug/alcohol policy compliance, train staff, and partner with leadership on training and risk mitigation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a safety and health-related field preferred or equivalent relevant experience.
• 5+ years construction safety experience.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and implements the field safety program for routine construction projects.
• Conducts regular walk-through inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance with laws and company policies.
• Conducts safety audits on assigned projects by identifying, documenting and recommending abatement of hazardous conditions.
• Monitors the implementation of safety programs and drug/alcohol policy compliance.
• Attends project meetings to discuss safety-related matters and supports safety leadership during audits.
• Leads project safety committee meetings and training activities.
• Investigates accidents and recommends changes to prevent recurrence.
• Coordinates with injured employees for timely return-to-work and tracks progress.
