Job summary

Southland Holdings is seeking a Safety Professional to support our Austin, TX project. You will lead daily safety meetings, conduct audits, develop site-specific safety plans, and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations to protect workers and the public.

You will also investigate incidents, manage incident reports, provide training, and contribute to a strong safety culture across construction sites. This role requires 4+ years in construction safety and relevant certifications, with

Qualifications

• 4+ years of construction safety experience, preferably water/wastewater, pipe, concrete, and tunneling.
• OSHA 30 hour Construction certification required.
• OSHA 40 hour HAZWOPER is a plus.
• Training in CHST; STSC; OSHA 510; 500, 502; ACOE EM-385-1-1 is a plus.
• First Aid/CPR certification.
• Experience with Fall Protection, Scaffolding, Steel Erection, Excavation.
• Willing to travel/relocate.
• ASP and CHST are required.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily safety meetings to promote awareness and compliance.
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections on construction sites.
• Collaborate with project teams to develop and implement site-specific safety plans and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Complete detailed accident reports and conduct thorough accident investigations.
• Ensure proper use of PPE and enforce adherence to safety procedures.
• Monitor safety programs and recommend improvements as needed.
• Provide safety training and orientation for new employees and contractors.
• Develop JHA and EHS documentation.
• Stay current with OSHA regulations and evolving safety standards.
• Actively promote a safety-conscious culture within the company.
