Job summary

Responsibilities include supporting subcontractors and McCarthy staff in safety meetings, site safety manual adherence, and incident investigations, with relocation/commuting as needed.

Qualifications

• Sophomore or Junior standing currently working towards a Bachelor's degree or Masters degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Public Health, or related major.

Responsibilities

• Support and monitor safety efforts of subcontractors and McCarthy employees, conducting project safety toolbox meetings weekly and enforcing safety guidelines.
• Ensure that the procedures outlined in the Site-Specific Safety Manual are implemented on the project site.
• Help with issuance of new hire safety documents and immerse new employees and subcontractors into the McCarthy safety culture.
• Coordinate with project supervision to ensure PPE/safety materials and first aid supplies are available and utilized, and all safety documents are posted.
• Participate in investigating accidents and injuries, identify root causes, and implement corrective measures; support safety/health inspections and responses.
