Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking an undergraduate safety intern to assist in safety and loss control activities on construction projects and office locations.

You will help implement Building L.I.F.E. and related safety programs, identify unsafe practices, coordinate safety meetings, and support training sessions under supervision. The role includes document work, inspections, and maintaining safety records with potential light travel.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a safety/health or related degree program with at least 1 year completed.
• Basic knowledge of safety and environmental principles and techniques.
• Interest in construction management and learning about the industry.
• Flexible to work standard business hours and overtime as needed.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support safety program implementation on projects and offices.
• Identify and report safety violations or unsafe practices.
• Coordinate safety duties for committees and meetings.
• Assist with safety training and orientations.
• Review subcontractor safety programs for compliance.
• Promote safe work practices and conditions.
• Assist with drug screening administration.
• Document meetings and preparations under supervision.
• Conduct jobsite inspections and compile summaries.
• Maintain safety records and incident metrics.
• Assist with worker orientation programs and participation logs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
