Job summary

Wohlsen Construction seeks a seasoned Safety & Health leader to drive program success across geographic territories under the Director of Safety. You will mentor teams, coordinate training, and enforce safety standards on sites and with subcontractors.

The role emphasizes developing and refining safety policies, conducting inspections, and leading investigations into incidents or near misses, while maintaining compliance with OSHA standards and company procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of construction safety and health experience.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred (in related fields).
• CHST, ASP, CSP, or comparable safety certification.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction course or equivalent required.
• Authorized OSHA 10- and 30-hour Instructor preferred.
• Working knowledge of construction operations and safety requirements.
• Basic knowledge of workers' compensation and automobile insurance.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficiency with digital safety management tools (e.g., Procore Safety) preferred.
• Valid driver’s license; travel to offices and project sites may be required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site safety inspections and follow through on corrective actions.
• Support onboarding, training, goal setting, performance reviews, and corrective actions for team members.
• Support subcontractor safety administration, including site-specific requirements and investigations.
• Participate in Safety Team and company safety initiatives; provide timely feedback.
• Develop and implement Safety & Health policies, procedures, and programs.
• Deliver safety trainings on company policies and OSHA topics.
• Ensure safety data, reports, and documentation are accurate and timely.
• Collect and analyze inspection data to identify trends and drive preventive actions.
