Job summary

TMG Construction is seeking a Safety Engineer (SSHO) to provide health and safety oversight on construction projects. You will develop and enforce the Accident Prevention Plan (APP) and ensure compliance with OSHA and project requirements, coordinating with the Director of Corporate Safety & Field Training.

You will lead on-site inspections, training, and reporting, work with subcontractors, and help refine safety policies, ensuring safe, compliant project execution across active sites.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction industry safety experience.
• Ability to train personnel in fall protection, excavation, shoring, scaffolding, and confined space.
• 24 hours of formal or online safety coursework in past 3 years.
• Must meet OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety certification within past 5 years.
• EM 385-1-1 training with 24 hours refresher in past 5 years, including annual 8-hour refresher.
• USACE QC management certification or experience preferred.
• First Aid/CPR/AED current.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; professional demeanor.
• Valid driver's license with good MVR; ability to lift 50 pounds and move on job sites.
• U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Attend pre-work meetings and produce APP and AHAs per program.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and project regulations.
• Conduct regular site inspections and document violations with remediation steps.
• Prepare safety reports and maintain safety paperwork.
• Coordinate on-site emergencies with responders.
• Conduct safety training, orientation, and refresher sessions.
• Help develop and refine safety policies and project specifications.
• Collaborate with project team and subcontractors to enforce safety.
