Job summary

Clark Construction Group seeks a Safety Engineer to champion on-site safety across Reno-area projects. You will implement safety programs, assess hazards, and lead education with project supervisors to ensure safe work plans for all phases.

This role requires strong communication, OSHA knowledge, and the ability to balance priorities while upholding Clark's standards of excellence. You will work on active sites and collaborate with subcontractors to promote a culture of care.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of construction safety experience with related degree or trade experience.
• Ability to communicate and influence supervisors, peers, and external partners.
• Experience in managing crane, fall protection, excavation, scaffolds, and heavy equipment safety.
• Strength in managing multiple competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Agile, data-driven approach to achieving objectives while balancing short and long term goals.

Responsibilities

• Drive the Clark safety culture on a project.
• Oversee and ensure the safety of employees, trade partners, and general public.
• Enforce corporate and project safety programs and federal/state/local standards.
• Lead review of specialized safety plans (crane, confined space, JAA, etc.).
• Partner with subcontractors for timely documentation submission.
• Identify exposures and recommend corrective action.
• Understand project schedule and contract documents to apply safety controls.
• Develop and coordinate project-specific safety programs.
• Collaborate with field supervision to integrate safety in planning.
• Develop site-specific safety education for personnel including subcontractors.
• Drive safety vision and align team to deliver a safe workplace.
• Facilitate third-party safety reviews including OSHA.
• Cultivate industry relationships to attract opportunities and top talent.
