Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Lead Environmental Health & Safety Engineer, Construction Safety to lead and advance the EHS construction safety program across sites. The role requires directing a team of EHS engineers, specialists, and technicians, with emphasis on compliance, contractor engagement, and robust risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
• 4+ years of experience in environmental, health and safety programs with construction safety focus.
• 3+ years of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the day-to-day activities and performance of the EHS construction safety team.
• Review and approve Purchase Orders and manage the budget for construction safety programs.
• Develop practical solutions to improve construction site safety and reduce incident rates.
• Review and interpret new safety laws and regulations and provide guidance to management.
• Provide training and coaching on JHAs, safe work procedures, contractor onboarding, permits to work, and risk management tools.
• Conduct Contractor Safety Steering Reviews to drive accountability across contractor groups.
• Implement and maintain safety policies for construction activities and perform regular site inspections.
• Perform safety audits, pre-task planning reviews, and contractor risk assessments in collaboration with project leadership.
