Job summary

The position requires a Bachelor’s in Safety/Health or related field and at least 1 year of construction safety experience, strong communication, and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, or related field; minimum 1 year of construction safety experience.
• Basic knowledge of safety/environmental principles and techniques.
• Familiar with Federal, State, and Local EH&S regulations.
• Familiar with general construction operations.
• Identify safety exposures and propose corrective actions.
• Demonstrate leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
• Professional verbal and written communication.
• Ability to take direction and follow through with commitments.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Analytical thinking, good judgment, and problem solving.
• Flexibility to adjust priorities; reliable transportation.
• Proficient computer and data entry skills, MS Office.
• Limited travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with training for safe work practices and EH&S programs.
• Review subcontractor safety programs for compliance.
• Promote safe work practices and conditions per regulations.
• Administer drug screening programs per requirements.
• Coordinate preconstruction meetings with supervisor.
• Conduct worker orientation and record participation.
• Gather PTPs and JHAs for contractors.
• Maintain safety records (e.g., logs, MSDS, incident metrics).
• Conduct safety meetings and document minutes.
• Maintain log of toolbox safety meetings and provide summaries.
• Perform site safety audits and inspections with corrective action.
• Identify safety violations and report for immediate resolution.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
