DeBra-Kuempel is seeking a Construction Safety Co-op to support the Safety Department and gain hands‑on experience in construction safety. This role assists with job site inspections, PPE management, safety documentation, and compliance while working closely with field and office teams.

The Safety Co-op will learn construction safety principles in a real‑world environment and contribute to a strong safety culture across the organization, with exposure to incident investigations and training

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Construction Safety Sciences or related field.
• Strong interest in construction safety and risk management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Valid driver's license preferred.

Responsabilités

• Assist with maintaining, promoting, and enforcing project site safety per policies.
• Support PPE inventory management for job site personnel.
• Participate in site visits, inspections, and safety audits to identify hazards.
• Document safety observations and corrective actions from inspections.
• Organize safety files, training records, and compliance documentation.
• Assist with employee onboarding and safety orientation activities.
• Help coordinate and track required safety training and certifications.
• Utilize ToolWatch and other systems to support asset management and inspections.
• Participate in incident investigations and near‑miss reporting as assigned.
• Collaborate with Safety Managers and field personnel to reinforce safe practices.
• Perform additional duties to support the role and organization.
