Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking an Entry-Level Environmental Health and Safety professional for the Dallas Main division. The role focuses on enforcing safety policies, coordinating training, and supporting hazard analyses on construction sites in Dallas, TX.

You will assist with drug screening administration, subcontractor safety program reviews, and preconstruction safety planning to promote Living Injury Free Every Day (LIFE) and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, or related field, and minimum 1 year of related construction safety experience, or equivalent education/training.
• Basic knowledge of safety/environmental principles and techniques.
• Familiar with Federal, State, and local Environmental Health & Safety regulations.
• Familiar with general construction operations.
• Ability to identify safety-related exposures and propose corrective actions.
• Demonstrate leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skills to build professional relationships.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to take direction and follow through with commitments.
• Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Analytical thinking, good judgment, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work in a non-structured environment and adapt priorities with management guidance.
• Proficient computer and data entry skills, Microsoft Office suite, and collaboration tools.
• Limited travel may be required; access to reliable transportation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with enforcing and adhering to EH&S policies and risk management on construction projects.
• Help identify, eliminate, and control hazardous conditions on project sites.
• Provide training on safe work practices and safety programs for staff and trades.
• Review subcontractor safety programs for compliance with regulations and contract requirements.
• Support administration of drug screening programs in alignment with company and owner requirements.
• Coordinate preconstruction meetings and worker orientation programs.
• Gather Pre-Task Plans (PTPs) and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) for contractors as required.
• Maintain safety records (PTPs, JHAs, training, toolbox talks, OSHA 300 log, MSDS, chemical inventories, incidents).
• Assist with safety meetings and distribute meeting minutes as directed by supervisor.
• Monitor subcontractor toolbox safety meetings and report findings to supervisor.
• Conduct site safety audits and inspections, issue corrective action reports to subcontractors as needed.
• Identify and report safety violations or imminent dangers to life or property.
• Support other safety duties as assigned.
