Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Dallas, TX is seeking an entry-level Environmental Health and Safety assistant to support enforcement of safety policies on a large construction project. You will assist with training, document control, and incident recordkeeping while ensuring compliance with OSHA and other regulations.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in safety-related field and the ability to work with multiple teams, review subcontractor safety programs, and help conduct site safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety-related field; 1 year construction safety experience.
• Knowledge of safety/environmental principles.
• Familiar with OSHA, Federal/State/local regulations.
• Ability to identify hazards and propose actions.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with providing safety training and EH&S program implementation on construction sites.
• Assist with reviewing subcontractor safety programs for compliance with policies and regulations.
• Assist with reviewing subcontractor training per OSHA standards.
• Assist with promoting safe work practices and conditions per regulations and owner requirements.
• Assist with administration of drug screening programs per policy.
• Assist with coordination of preconstruction meetings and worker orientations on site.
• Assist with gathering PTPs and JHAs for project contractors per contractual requirements.
• Assist with maintaining safety records (PTPs, JHAs, training, tool box meetings, OSHA 300 logs).
• Assist with conducting safety meetings and recording minutes per supervisor guidance.
• Assist with maintaining logs of subcontractor toolbox talks and providing reports to supervisor.
• Assist with site safety audits, inspections, and reporting of violations to subcontractors for immediate action.
• Assist with identifying and reporting safety violations, especially imminent danger.
• Other duties as assigned.
