Job summary

Granite Construction is seeking an Operations Coordinator at our California location to assist with labor, equipment, materials, trucking and rentals across projects. You will work with construction managers, superintendents and support teams to allocate resources efficiently.

Responsibilities include coordinating onboarding, communicating detailed schedules, and ensuring equipment utilization and jobsite readiness. Experience in construction coordination and union environments is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in operations coordination, construction administration, workforce scheduling, onboarding, or equipment coordination.
• Strong organizational and communication abilities with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in MS Office and job-site software; ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate project labor, equipment, and rental needs with construction teams and support departments.
• Communicate timing and location details to coordinate field resources.
• Support onboarding and mobilization of new employees with documentation and orientation requirements.
• Arrange and work with Equipment department to optimize equipment utilization and schedule repairs.
• Use dispatch software to communicate resource and scheduling updates daily to the team.
• Inform Superintendents of dispatch status to monitor daily work activities (QC, Shop, PM, Payroll).
• Collaborate with vendors to obtain favorable pricing for rentals and materials not in job setups; use FIS system for processing.
• Understand contract requirements for ordering resources (DBE, Tier-compliant equipment).
• Update the underground service alert (USA) to ensure current information.
• Code invoices for accuracy and timeliness.
• Track rentals and equipment moves.
