Job summary

J. Benton Construction in the U.S. Virgin Islands seeks a Quality Manager to lead site-specific quality programs, develop SSQMPs, and partner with project teams, designers, and clients to ensure defect-free delivery.

You will oversee inspections, material reviews, and test coordination, drive continuous improvement, and mentor field personnel in quality procedures, safety, and documentation throughout preconstruction to closeout.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a construction-related field; 7–10 years in senior roles.
• OSHA 30 certification required.
• CQM-C certification required; experience with quality management on complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Site-Specific Quality Management Plans (SSQMPs) with project teams.
• Lead lessons-learned processes and integrate outcomes into SSQMPs and field strategies.
• Train project teams and subcontractors on quality initiatives and tool usage (e.g., Procore templates).
• Perform field checks and reviews to prevent deficiencies and rework.
• Coordinate constructability reviews and advise on high-risk scopes to improve quality.
• Oversee mock-ups and first-installation reviews; document quality guideposts.
• Lead pre-operational meeting readiness and coordinate SMEs for high-risk scopes.
• Verify incoming materials and resolve nonconforming issues with stakeholders.
• Drive punch list and turnover readiness; support closeout activities.
• Review contracts for quality requirements and support process improvements.
