Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Quality Manager II to oversee the QC program on large or multi‑phase projects—heavy civil, industrial, or federal work under USACE/NAVFAC rules. You lead field inspectors and technicians and own the project QC plan.

You present data at owner meetings, manage NCRs with documented causes and corrective actions, and ensure test results meet specification frequencies. Travel to sites may be required; a valid driver's license and ability to be on active

Qualifications

• 6+ years in construction quality control or special inspection, including 2+ years supervising inspectors.
• USACE CQM-C certificate plus ICC Special Inspector or NICET Level III certification.
• Experience on USACE, NAVFAC, DOT, or industrial owner quality programs.
• Writes clearly and holds the line in a room of superintendents and owner representatives.

Responsibilities

• Write and maintain the project quality control plan and get it accepted by the owner or agency;
• Lead preparatory, initial, and follow-up phase meetings for every definable feature of work;
• Supervise QC inspectors and testing technicians;
• assign daily coverage and review their reports;
• Run the nonconformance and corrective-action process and present it in owner QA/QC meetings;
• Coordinate laboratory testing, mix design approvals, and material certifications across subcontractors.
