Job summary

U.S. Engineering Innovations in Memphis, TN seeks a Quality Control Manager to plan, direct, and coordinate on-site QC activities, ensuring compliance with regulations and project requirements. You will oversee documentation, inspect work, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver a quality product.

The role requires a B.S. in engineering or construction management and at least five years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Create, update and maintain the project submittal log and all other project specific quality control reports.
• Review shop drawings and submittals for conformance with project specifications.
• Chair and document weekly QC meetings with the superintendent and provide minutes.
• Provide daily QC reports that reinforce project conformance and address non-conformances.
• Conduct preparatory, initial and follow-up meetings to establish standards of care.
• Verify materials received meet submittals and are acceptable for use.
• Meetings with subcontractors and superintendent before new work phase to discuss issues.
• Coordinate and document testing and commissioning of building systems.
• Maintain the project as-built drawings daily.
• Assemble and forward project closeout documents (O&M manuals, as-builts, warranties).
• Stop work if necessary to resolve safety/quality issues.
• Facilitate the commissioning process.
• Investigate upfront to foresee unusual installation requirements.
• Push back on scope creep.
• Find cost-efficient ways to meet contract requirements.
• Be an active participant in QC issue resolution.
