Job summary

McGough Construction CO, LLC is seeking a Quality Control Specialist to support field inspections and ensure work aligns with contract documents, drawings, and codes. This role partners with project teams and trade partners to maintain quality standards across complex projects.

The QC Specialist will coordinate testing, document quality observations, and promote continuous improvement within the project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Building Science, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant construction experience.
• 3-5+ years of experience in commercial construction, quality control, field engineering, project engineering, or a related construction role.
• Experience performing field inspections and coordinating quality documentation.
• Experience interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

Responsibilities

• Field Quality Control: Perform field quality inspections to verify work complies with contract documents, project specifications, approved submittals, and applicable codes.
• Inspection & Testing Coordination: Coordinate quality inspections performed by subcontractors, testing agencies, and manufacturers.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate inspection reports, quality logs, punch lists, testing records, and project documentation.
• Preconstruction & Project Support: Review drawings, specs, submittals, and shop drawings to identify quality concerns; participate in constructability reviews.
• Code Compliance: Apply knowledge of building codes and project requirements during inspections.
• Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement: Investigate quality concerns and recommend corrective actions and improvements.
• Collaboration: Work with project managers, superintendents, trade partners, consultants, testing agencies, and owners.
