Job summary

SOCOTEC is seeking a Construction Quality Assurance Testing Technician in Washington to perform material testing and inspections in alignment with project drawings and specifications.

Expect to communicate effectively with field crews, document findings, and ensure compliance with codes while staying flexible in a dynamic construction environment. A strong emphasis on accuracy and safety is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Review approved construction drawings and specifications.
• Communicate with contractors and report inspection findings.
• Write concise inspection reports aligned with contract documents and codes.
• Coordinate inspections with AAR office and sample pickup.
• Inspect and verify materials for compliance with plans and specs.

• Material Testing (Certifications Required)
• Review approved construction drawings and specifications
• Communicate with contractor workers, foremen, superintendents, project managers, building inspectors and report findings
• Write concise inspection reports using specific language pertaining to contract documents, approved drawings, and any applicable code
• Communicate with AAR office to report inspection observations, scheduling and sample pick up coordination
• Inspection and verification of materials for compliance to the plans and specifications
• Accurately complete quality records relating to material testing
• Review of contract documents
• Ensure that contractors comply with specifications
• The ability to obtain additional certifications to perform in-field material testing
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Authorization to work in the United States
• No previous experience in the construction industry is required
• Preference to one or more of the following certifications: ACI, Nuclear Gauge, WABO, WAQTC
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record
• Energetic, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize and manage a multi-task workload

Salary Range: $22-34/hour, depending on qualifications
