Job summary

SOCOTEC is hiring a Construction Quality Assurance Testing Technician (WAQTC/ACI) in Washington to support field and office inspection tasks, review drawings, and verify material testing against project specs.

You will communicate with contractors and project teams, prepare concise reports, maintain quality records, and pursue additional certifications. Some roles may require travel and lifting up to 50 lbs; a high school diploma and US work authorization are required.

Qualifications

• No previous experience in the construction industry is required.
• Required Certifications: WAQTC, ACI, Nuclear Gauge; other certifications a plus (WDOT, WABO, ICC).
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• Valid driver's license with a clean record.

Responsibilities

• Review approved construction drawings and specifications
• Communicate with contractor workers and managers; report findings
• Write concise inspection reports aligned with contract documents and codes
• Coordinate inspection observations and sample pickup with AAR office
• Inspect and verify materials for compliance with plans and specs
• Complete quality records related to material testing
• Review contract documents and ensure contractor compliance
• Obtain additional certifications to perform in-field testing
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

• Material Testing (Certifications Required)
• Review approved construction drawings and specifications
• Communicate with contractor workers, foremen, superintendents, project managers, building inspectors and report findings
• Write concise inspection reports using specific language pertaining to contract documents, approved drawings, and any applicable code
• Communicate with AAR office to report inspection observations, scheduling and sample pick up coordination
• Inspection and verification of materials for compliance to the plans and specifications
• Accurately complete quality records relating to material testing
• Review of contract documents
• Ensure that contractors comply with specifications
• The ability to obtain additional certifications to perform in-field material testing
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Authorization to work in the United States

Salary Range: $22-34/hour, depending on qualifications (potentially hire for inspectors with more certifications)
