Job summary

Tigua Inc. seeks a Quality Control Manager to own the Contractor Quality Control Plan and oversee a three-phase control process ensuring installed work meets contract documents.

You will manage submittals, testing, and government-quality documentation, with authority to reject nonconforming work and halt operations as needed. The role is contingent upon contract award and project requirements, with duties spanning DFOW, submittal registers, daily CQC reports, and final closeout.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or Building Construction or an Associate’s degree plus additional experience or a minimum of ten (10) years of construction experience in lieu of a degree.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience implementing and managing quality control programs on construction projects of similar size and complexity, including interior renovation and building systems work.
• Demonstrated experience executing the three-phase control process: preparatory, initial, and follow-up, with documented preparatory and initial phase meetings.
• Demonstrated experience managing submittal registers, RFIs, testing and inspection coordination, deficiency and rework logs, and punch list closeout.
• Demonstrated ability to identify quality issues, drive root cause correction, and prevent recurrence.
• Experience preparing daily CQC reports and government-facing quality documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop, submit for Government acceptance, and maintain the project-specific Contractor Quality Control (CQC) Plan.
• Identify and define all Definable Features of Work (DFOW).
• Maintain the current DFOW list and three-phase control schedule throughout the project.
• Establish and maintain the project submittal register.
• Review submittals for specification and contract compliance before submission to the Government.
• Track submittal review and approval status against procurement, delivery, and installation schedules.
• Coordinate quality-control requirements with project management, field supervision, subcontractors, and Government representatives.
• Conduct preparatory-phase meetings, review applicable plans, and verify materials and documentation.
• Perform and document daily quality-control inspections of active construction work.
• Maintain an accurate rework and deficiency log identifying issue, responsible party, corrective action, and closure date.
• Coordinate and witness required testing, inspections, and third-party verification activities.
• Inspect materials and equipment upon delivery to verify compliance with approved submittals.
• Confirm delivered materials match approved manufacturer, model, finish, quantity, and other specified requirements.
• Manage the pre-final and final punch-list process and project closeout documentation.
