Job summary

Homes by WestBay, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to join our Tampa Bay area team. You will manage data in Newstar Enterprise, set up plans, configure options, and maintain current costs to keep our base homes competitive.

The role requires at least one year of experience in construction purchasing or estimating, a high school degree (bachelor preferred), and willingness to relocate to the Tampa Bay area. On-site with some discretionary remote work may be possible.

Qualifications

• High school degree required; 4-year degree preferred in Business, Engineering or Construction Management.
• 1 year construction field experience required (6 months in purchasing or estimating preferred).
• Knowledge of Newstar Enterprise is helpful.

Responsibilities

• System Setup & Data Management: input and maintain data in Newstar Enterprise for new plan launches.
• Options Management: create/configure options and maintain current costs; secure stock.
• Bid & Cost Administration: obtain bids from vendors and enter costs; ensure pricing is current.
• Purchase Order Processing: generate POs for new starts and variance POs; verify before release.
• Rebate Administration: prepare/submit quarterly rebate forms and track receipts.
• Vendor & Department Communication: respond to inquiries and support internal teams.
• Documentation & Compliance: maintain organized records for bids/contracts/POs per policy.
• Project & Deadline Management: meet deadlines and communicate delays.
• Cross-Department Support: collaborate with design, construction, and accounting.
• Other Duties: perform tasks as assigned by Director of Purchasing.
