Job summary

Homes by WestBay is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead on-site construction for City Homes in South Tampa, FL. You will coordinate multiple trades, ensure adherence to plans and budgets, and serve as the primary customer contact during the build.

This on-site role requires relocation to Tampa Bay, FL, a valid driver’s license, and a track record of delivering homes on time. College degree in a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Exempt position with potential overtime.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 4-year college degree in Business, Engineering, or Construction Management preferred.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Experience with production homebuilding scheduling.
• Ability to fluently read and interpret construction plans and scopes of work.
• Experience with stem wall construction and related site preparation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee construction activities to achieve 100% completion on schedule and within budget.
• Communicate project status to customers weekly and with the team.
• Maintain schedule and identify issues that may affect on-time delivery.
• Keep stakeholders informed and participate in backlog and sales meetings as needed.
• Manage all customer meetings per HBWB Process Manual.
• Maintain an organized job site and enforce safety policies.
• Coordinate with Sales, Closing, Design Studio and Purchasing as needed.

Homes by WestBay is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join our growing team in our City Homes Division in South Tampa, FL. The Construction Manager III must be able to oversee the construction of assigned homes and operate with regular supervision of the Area Construction Manager. This includes the daily coordination of all on site activities of the construction schedule, supervising all field personnel and to successfully complete homes on schedule and within budget. This also includes maintaining the highest quality while driving good construction practices and safety. From Plan Review through Final Walk Through, the Construction Manager III is the customer’s primary point of contact and responsible for delivering on the company Mission to the customer during the construction process.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and oversee all construction activities to achieve 100% completion on schedule, within budget and in conformance to plans, specifications and standards
• Effectively and accurately communicate relevant information to the customer on a weekly basis
• Maintain effective construction schedule while identifying and solving problems before they affect critical path to on time delivery
• Keep the Area Construction Manager and appropriate parties informed about production status and issues that may impact delivery of the Mission. Be prepared for weekly backlog meetings and neighborhood meetings with the sales team
• Managing all eight customer meetings as outlined in the HBWB Process Manual
• Maintain an organized job site including the construction office
• Enforce company safety policy with trade partners and company employees
• Effectively manage communication between Sales, Closing Coordinators, Design Studio and Purchasing as needed
• Commands respect of customers and vendors through consistent delivery of commitments and expectations
• Exhibits tact, consideration, and patience in difficult situations
• Interacts and communicates clearly with coworkers, clients and vendors in a courteous, friendly manner
• Approaches sudden, unexpected challenges effectively with confidence
• Appropriately and accurately orders required materials
• Direct all trades to achieve completion of scheduled tasks on time and in conformance with plans, specifications and scopes of work
• Understand of inspection requirements and preparation of homes for inspection

Requirements:

Able to consistently carry at least 10-14 homes at a high level complex build.

Consistently delivers assigned homes 100% on time and on budget.

Valid Driver's License.

Working knowledge and experience with production homebuilding scheduling.

Ability to fluently read and interpret construction plans and scopes of work.

Experience with stem wall construction and related site preparation requirements.

Additional Requirements

• This is an on-site position based in Tampa Bay, FL and will require relocation if you are not currently located in the area. While the role is primarily in-person, there may be limited access to remote work at the discretion of management and based on business needs.
• This is an exempt role, which may require working more than eight hours per day.
