Job summary

Zurich North America is seeking an Underwriting Specialist, Construction Property on a hybrid basis at our Chicago/Midwest offices. You will evaluate new and renewal Construction property business, manage broker relationships, and drive sales opportunities with a focus on market needs. Travel about 20% is required depending on location.

You will partner with management to ensure compliant underwriting and timely quotes, while supporting agents, brokers and customers to grow risk-adjusted profits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years in underwriting or market-facing area, or 6+ years in underwriting support or claims.
• Experience with broker relationships and knowledge of regulatory guidelines.
• Strong time management and efficient quotes for new/renewal business.

Responsibilities

• Administer underwriting rules and rating manual guidelines.
• Develop and maintain relationships with distributors and customers.
• Support sales culture by serving as Help Point for agents, brokers and customers.
• Proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities.
• Conduct opportunity assessments with distributors to identify growth.
• Qualify accounts to align with appetite and opportunity.
• Make broker/customer calls with clear purpose and preparation.
• Collaborate with line-of-business representatives on needs and solutions.
