Job summary

FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE AND CONSUMER SERVICES seeks a qualified CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS CONSULTANT II to manage scope of work, bid processes, schedules, budgets and on-site construction activities for multiple markets. The role requires a mix of supervisory experience, engineering knowledge, and strong compliance with building codes and procurement rules.

HQ within Broward, Collier, Hardee, Hillsborough, Lee, Miami-Dade, St.

Qualifications

• Intermediate skills of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Basic knowledge of accounting.
• Ability to read and review building plans.
• Knowledge of building codes, laws and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Create scope of work and administer bid/construction process for delegated projects for each Market.
• Develop schedules, budgets, and resource plans for projects.
• Review requests for payment from contractors to ensure contract provisions are followed.
• Provide on-site resolution of construction problems.
• Monitor construction quality and ensure adherence to specifications; recommend corrective action.
• Attend site visits and oversee inspections and handover activities.
