Job summary

Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) seeks a Construction Services Manager to coordinate new construction, remodeling, and renovation projects across campuses. You will supervise staff, ensure contract compliance, and liaise with architects, engineers, and administrators.

Qualifications include an associate degree in Architecture or Engineering and 3+ years of related experience, with registration as an Engineer or Architect preferred. Travel required across MATC sites.

Qualifications

• Compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards/requirements.
• Experience in construction renovation and maintenance projects; project manager or supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Plans and coordinates preparation of contract drawings, specifications and cost estimates for construction, alteration and repair of structures.
• Assures contractors' adherence to contract documents including drawings, specifications, codes, regulations.
• Inspects construction work in progress; notes deviations, recommends corrective action.
• Acts as liaison between contractors, architects, engineers, and MATC personnel; responds to requests.
• Conducts tests to determine uniform and safe construction.
• Maintains records of work in progress and submits compliance reports.
• Assists in coordinating daily division activities; may supervise engineering staff.
• Supervises architects and drafts persons; coordinates staff functions.
• Procures quotes on minor projects and coordinates projects.
• Attends departmental meetings and collaborates with architects/engineers on interior spaces and infrastructure upgrades.
