Brevard County is seeking a skilled Project Coordinator in the Public Works Department, Roadway and Bridge unit. The position ensures coordination and monitoring of multiple county construction projects, focusing on horizontal construction such as roads, bridges, sidewalks, and underground utilities, including CIP and complex transportation initiatives.
Open to permanent full-time staff; salary is $26.14–$28.75 hourly, with schedule Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

$26.14 to $28.75 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Government Center/Viera/Travels Countywide. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Performs skilled technical work coordinating and monitoring multiple County construction projects as assigned; the areas of specialization for this position are primarily horizontal construction (e.g. roads, bridges, sidewalks, and underground utilities) including but not limited to Capital Improvement Projects (CIP), road maintenance repair projects, and complex specialized transportation projects.
Six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in roadway, utility, and transportation construction, which includes three (3) years of project management experience preferably for a public agency; OR Bachelor's degree with major course work in Transportation Construction Management, Civil Engineering or closely related field PLUS two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in roadway, utility, and transportation construction which includes project management experience preferably for a public agency. Additional qualifying education or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.
Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida Driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
