The Keystone Distinction Group is seeking a Construction Project Manager in Reston, VA to lead ground-up restaurant and retail construction across multiple projects. Hybrid work arrangement available.

You will manage planning, coordination, and execution, ensuring projects meet safety, quality, and budget targets while coordinating with contractors and clients. Strong experience in restaurant/retail builds is required, with PMP preferred.

Construction Project Manager – Restaurant & Retail

• Compensation: $115,000 - $130,000 per year

About the Role

Are you a seasoned Construction Project Manager with a proven track record in ground-up restaurant builds and retail buildouts? If you excel at managing multiple projects, keeping teams aligned, and delivering high-quality commercial spaces on time and under budget, we want you on our team.

Based out of our Reston, VA office with hybrid work flexibility, you will oversee the full lifecycle of multiple concurrent projects—from planning and coordination through to final execution.

Please Note: Demonstrated experience in restaurant and retail construction (both ground-up and tenant build-out) is strictly required for this position. Candidates without this specific background will not be considered.

What You'll Do

• Drive Project Success: Manage full-cycle construction for multiple concurrent restaurant and retail projects, strictly overseeing schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.


• Lead the Site: Conduct regular site visits to enforce compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, local building codes, and industry best practices.


• Manage the Budget: Monitor project expenses continuously, driving cost-control measures to ensure projects are delivered within budget.


• Execute the Vision: Review, interpret, and execute against complex project blueprints and architectural designs.


• Mitigate Risks: Proactively identify potential risks or schedule delays and implement effective solutions using industry-standard software.


• Collaborate: Work closely with contractors, vendors, clients, and internal teams to ensure a smooth, efficient project workflow, leading regular meetings to keep all stakeholders aligned.

What You Bring

• Mandatory Experience: A proven project management background specifically focused on restaurant and retail construction, including ground-up, open-door remodels, and tenant buildouts.


• Tech Proficiency: Hands-on experience with construction management and scheduling software (Procore, Primavera, and Raken strongly preferred).


• Technical Literacy: A strong ability to expertly read and interpret construction blueprints and site designs.


• Time Management: Exceptional ability to manage multiple overlapping projects, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet firm deadlines.


• Leadership Skills: Excellent interpersonal communication with a proven track record of building strong relationships with contractors, vendors, and clients.


• Bonus Qualifications: A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly preferred.
