Job summary

WM is seeking a Landfill Operations Manager to lead day-to-day district operations across sites, ensuring safety, service, and cost efficiency. The role reports to senior leadership and involves P&L responsibility, contract management, and cross-functional coordination.

The ideal candidate has a background in construction project management, at least two years at a supervisory level, and a track record of improving safety and productivity while managing budgets and resources.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or higher as required.
• Minimum of two years in construction project management and related fields.
• At least 4 years in a supervisory role with P&L responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day district operations and support Ops Managers to ensure safety, service, and savings.
• Ensure compliance with Company, OSHA, and other regulations and standards.
• Lead investigations into injuries and incidents with coaching and retraining.
• Manage personnel decisions including hiring, coaching, disciplinary actions and performance reviews.
• Set short- and long-term goals with senior leadership and monitor budget performance.
• Participate in regular P&L reviews and optimize equipment use and costs.
• Engage with local agencies to renew and negotiate contracts and uphold WM reputation.
