Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) is seeking an experienced construction project leader for the Vincennes District. You will develop and manage comprehensive plans, oversee inspectors, and ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.

This exempt role focuses on contractor coordination, documentation, and cost control, with opportunities to implement innovative practices and drive on-time delivery across highway projects in Indiana.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Broad knowledge of construction management methods, materials, safety, scheduling, specifications, contract documents, estimating, and cost analysis.
• Ability to manage projects with emphasis on cost control, project delivery, and scheduling.
• Managerial and communication skills.
• Knowledge of scheduling, CAD, field layout, submittal review, and material procurement.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive construction project plans, ensuring adherence to scope, timelines, and resources.
• Oversee day-to-day construction issues and direct inspectors.
• Manage budgets up to $5 million and negotiate change orders.
• Create and maintain detailed project documentation (contracts, permits, progress reports).
• Coordinate with contractor, agency, and stakeholders to resolve field issues and ensure timely timelines.
