Harris, a leading mechanical contractor, offers a Construction Project Manager Intern position for Summer 2027 in Columbus, OH. The role provides hands-on experience turning classroom lessons into real-life construction skills across pre-job, construction, and closeout phases.

You will assist with estimating, safety, purchasing, submittals, and tracking; gain exposure to RFIs, change orders, and project closeout documentation; and work closely with teams to develop strong communication and

• Must be a current student pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Strong interest in pursuing a career in the construction industry and project management.
• Ability to read and comprehend construction documents.
• Demonstrated proficiency of math and analytical skills.
• Must have strong interpersonal skills with good verbal and written communication while working in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Gain exposure to estimating, job setup, contracts, permits, and insurance.
• Assist with safety, purchasing, submittals, and material tracking.
• Support productivity tracking, change orders, and RFIs.
• Contribute to project closeout including O&M manuals and as-record drawings.
• Collaborate across project teams from start to finish.

Job Description:

Note: This internship is for Summer 2027

Your role as a Construction Project Manager Intern

Our mission is to provide college students with on the job experience and knowledge of the construction process. As a Project Manager intern you will be given hands on opportunities to turn classroom lessons into real life skills in the construction industry.

Throughout the internship, you will have expose to all aspects of a project, start to finish, including the following:

Pre-Job

• Estimating
• Job Setup
• Job contracts
• Permits and insurance certificates

During Construction

• Safety
• Purchasing
• Submittals
• Tracking materials & equipment
• Productivity tracking
• Change orders and tracking
• RFIs

Job Closeout

• Project closeout O&M manuals
• As-recording drawings and warranties

Pay Range:

$21.37 - $32.05
