Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking a seasoned Project Manager I to lead projects with a focus on quality, timeliness, safety, and customer relationships. You will mentor the project team and ensure effective communication with clients and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities include managing project finances, contracts, procurement, and subcontractor oversight, while developing junior staff and ensuring compliance with Mortenson policies. Strong analytical and leadership skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in construction/engineering
• Minimum six years of related experience
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple tasks
• Understanding of construction law and business practices
• Experience in commercial construction, renewable energy, EPC contracting, or emerging technologies
• Microsoft Office, Project, and web applications at an intermediate level
• Positive, professional attitude with strong customer service
• Ability to travel 100%
• Current driver's license

Responsibilities

• Manage overall financial health of projects
• Support and lead EPC contract negotiations, including technical exhibits and project schedules
• Lead vendor procurement and bid/award phase for major subs and suppliers
• Develop and maintain project financial and equipment projections
• Allocate project estimates into financial systems and approve invoices
• Provide financials and billings to accounting, and create monthly owner billings
• Manage subcontracts and suppliers, oversee budget and trade partner selections
• Handle billings, contract management, and change orders
• Manage and develop Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, approve timecards, provide feedback
