Job summary

Broaddus & Associates seeks an experienced project manager to lead large, complex, mission-critical projects from inception to completion. You will direct design professionals, construction managers, engineers, and vendors to meet goals and ensure successful execution.

The role emphasizes client relationship building, budget control, and schedule management, with travel as needed. A technical degree and PMP or CMAA credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Science or a technical degree in Construction Management preferred.
  • Desirable licenses/certifications: PMP, Licensed Engineer, Registered Architect, or CMAA.
  • 3-10+ years experience (minimum).
  • Experience in the utility electricity generation field is desirable.
  • Prior data center or healthcare market experience desirable.
  • Prior field experience at a general contractor or subcontractor desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and management of the Client project, coordinating resources and overseeing quality.
  • Monitor budgets and develop formats to track expenditure.
  • Review pay applications for design team, contractor, and consultants.
  • Monitor master schedule for compliance and on-time completion.
  • Track the general contractor’s schedule with periodic analysis.
  • Coordinate with Client Operations team and internal staff.
  • Coordinate with end users, vendors, and OFCI equipment suppliers.
  • Assist in development of professional contracts.
  • Monitor and evaluate performance of professional service contractors.
  • Manage the project team and facilitate communications with Client.
  • Coordinate with procurement and equipment vendors.
  • Oversee interior fit-out and equipment installation.
  • Willingness to travel or relocate as required.

Job description

Purpose

Provide professional project management and leadership on large, complex mission critical projects. PM will direct & support design professionals, construction managers, and various engineers, equipment providers, inspection agencies, and other required professionals to meet project goals and successful project execution.

Goal

Exceed client expectations while cultivating, maintaining, and building positive & long-lasting Client relationships.

DUTIES
  • Provide leadership and management of the Client project by providing resource coordination, communication, conflict resolution, and oversight / quality monitoring
  • Monitor project budgets to assure compliance with approved funding and project goals. Develop detailed budget formats to track expenditure
  • Review project pay applications for design team, contractor, and all consultants for accuracy and approval
  • Monitor and review project master schedule, to assure compliance and on time completion
  • Monitor and track the general contractor’s schedule, performing periodic comprehensive analysis to ensure accuracy
  • Coordinate with Client’s Operations team and other internal staff
  • As directed, coordinate with Client’s end users, vendors, and owner-furnished contractor-installed (OFCI) equipment suppliers
  • Assistance and review in the development of all professional contracts
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of professional service contractors
  • Management of the project team including assisting with meeting coordination, assisting with issue resolution, pay application review, change order request evaluation, and additional services requests evaluation, while facilitating necessary communications with Client
  • Coordinate with internal and external procurement & equipment vendors
  • Provide oversight of interior fit out & equipment installation
  • Willingness to travel or relocate might be required (project specific)
EDUCATION
  • A bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Science or a technical degree in Construction Management preferred.
  • Desirable Licenses, Registration, or Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP), Licensed Engineer, Registered Architect, or Certified Construction Manager (CMAA).
EXPERIENCE
  • 3-10+ years experience (minimum)
  • Experience in the utility electricity generation field is desirable.
  • Prior experience in the data center or healthcare markets desirable.
  • Prior field experience at a general contractor or subcontractor desirable
