Must have commercial interior experience
We’re working with a well-established NYC commercial interiors contractor looking to add a Project Manager to their growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a junior PM who can independently run their own projects, or a strong APM who is already taking ownership of jobs and ready to make the step up.
The Opportunity & Responsibilities:
- Oversee multiple commercial interior construction projects across Manhattan at any given time.
- Manage multiple projects typically ranging from $2M–$6M, alongside smaller projects in the region of $600K.
- Take ownership of projects from pre-construction and planning through execution, turnover and final closeout.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, coordinating subcontractors, vendors and field teams to ensure milestones are met.
- Manage project budgets, cost tracking, change orders, purchase orders and subcontractor requisitions.
- Review drawings, specifications and scopes of work, identifying potential conflicts and resolving issues before they impact progress.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, meeting minutes and other project documentation.
- Lead project meetings with clients, architects, consultants and subcontractors, maintaining clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate closely with site Superintendents to monitor progress, resolve field issues and maintain quality and safety standards.
- Track procurement, material lead times and deliveries to ensure works remain on schedule.
- Monitor project costs and timelines, proactively addressing delays, scope changes and potential budget overruns.
- Oversee punch lists, inspections, commissioning where applicable and final project handover.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working for a NYC commercial interiors general contractor.
- A strong APM already running their own jobs, or a junior PM capable of independently managing multiple projects.
- Experience delivering commercial interiors projects, ideally across office fit-outs, tenant improvements or similar environments.
- A solid understanding of project scheduling, cost control, subcontractor coordination and construction documentation.
- Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
- Someone proactive who takes ownership, can manage competing priorities and drives projects through to completion.
An opportunity to take ownership of multiple projects, work with a respected contractor and continue progressing your career within NYC commercial interiors.
