Job description

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Construction Project Manager to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction management, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of successfully delivering construction projects on time and within budget. The Construction Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of construction projects, from planning and budgeting to implementation and completion. A large majority of our projects are retail and c-store; experience with c-stores is encouraged. This is a remote role but requires visiting job sites, with weekly site visits. Ideally, the candidate will live between Panama City, FL and Tallahassee.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Coordination: Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met. Review and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Budget Management: Create and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial constraints. Monitor project expenditures, identify variances, and implement corrective actions as necessary. Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Team Leadership: Provide strong leadership to the project team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment. Effectively communicate project goals, expectations, and updates to team members. Conduct regular team meetings to assess progress and address challenges.
  • Quality Control: Implement and enforce quality control standards to ensure work meets or exceeds industry and company standards. Conduct regular inspections to identify and address issues related to construction quality.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies. Proactively address and resolve issues that may impact project timelines or budget.
  • Client Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates on project progress. Address client concerns or requests promptly and professionally.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and implement safety measures on construction sites. Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience as a Construction Project Manager in the construction industry.
  • Experience in retail and convenience store construction. Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and safety standards.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills. Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Certifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification is preferred.
