Berlien & Co in Hawaii is seeking a Construction Project Manager to lead planning, scheduling, budgeting, and team oversight on diverse construction projects. You will coordinate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery and compliance with safety standards.

The role requires strong leadership, 5+ years in construction management, and a PMP (preferred). You will manage client communications, monitor costs, and ensure quality and regulatory compliance on site.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning & Coordination:
  • Lead project planning efforts, including setting clear objectives, timelines, and budgets.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocation strategies.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other professionals to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Budget & Cost Management:
  • Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring financial objectives are met.
  • Monitor and control project costs, identify potential savings, and ensure cost-effective solutions.
  • Review and approve invoices, ensuring they align with project agreements.
  • Manage, mentor, and direct a team of construction workers, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Hold regular site meetings to discuss project progress, address concerns, and resolve issues.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing safety policies and regulations.
  • Quality Control & Risk Management:
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and project specifications.
  • Identify potential risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct inspections and quality checks to ensure work is completed to the highest standards.
  • Client Communication:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Provide regular updates on project progress, addressing any issues or delays.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Compliance & Documentation:
  • Ensure all necessary permits, licenses, and inspections are obtained before work begins.
  • Maintain detailed project documentation, including contracts, change orders, schedules, and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal construction regulations.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management or a related field.
  • Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) (preferred)
  • Skills:
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Bluebeam MS Project).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to visit construction sites regularly.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy materials and equipment when necessary.
