Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and execution plans.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Review construction documents for constructability, accuracy, and budget compliance.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Coordinate the design process with owners, architects, and engineers.
  • Review, negotiate, and manage contracts and subcontracts.
  • Monitor project costs and ensure budgets are met.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, equipment, materials, and project activities.
  • Identify and resolve issues impacting schedules, costs, or quality.
  • Provide regular progress updates on costs, schedules, and milestones.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.

Job description

The Construction Project Manager will oversee construction projects from inception through completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role will manage project planning, scheduling, contracts, subcontractors, budgets, materials, design coordination, and client relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage construction projects from start to finish with full project ownership.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and overall execution plans.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Review construction documents for constructability, accuracy, and budget compliance.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications.
  • Coordinate the design process with owners, architects, and engineers.
  • Review, negotiate, and manage AIA contracts, subcontracts, and related agreements.
  • Review subcontractor bids and prepare/negotiate subcontracts.
  • Monitor project costs and ensure work remains within approved budgets.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, equipment, materials, and project activities.
  • Identify and proactively resolve issues that could impact schedules, costs, or project quality.
  • Provide regular progress updates regarding project costs, schedules, and milestones.
  • Work with consultants and project stakeholders to resolve construction issues.
  • Ensure projects comply with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Maintain a proactive approach to contingency planning and changing project requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial construction management.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple construction projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of construction, engineering, and architectural principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong subcontractor, vendor, and client coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage aggressive construction schedules and competing priorities.
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical-thinking, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to identify potential risks and obstacles affecting project schedules and costs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Project.
  • Strong sense of accountability, integrity, flexibility, and follow-through.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Computerease or similar construction management software.
  • Experience with retail, restaurant, multifamily, and build-to-suit projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
