JOB SUMMARY

Provides construction project management services for Universitycapital improvement, renovation, and construction projects. Servesas the University's owner's representative throughout constructionactivities, ensuring projects are completed in accordance withcontract requirements, industry standards, building codes, budgetexpectations, and schedule objectives. Coordinates contractors,consultants, and campus stakeholders to support successful projectexecution and minimize disruptions to University operations.Reviews technical documents, analyzes project issues, and developspractical solutions to support construction activities and projectoutcomes. Applies professional judgment and effective communicationskills to manage complex projects while protecting the University'sinterests and supporting its mission.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGEMENT & OWNER REPRESENTATION -30%

• Serves as the University's owner's representative for assignedconstruction projects, ensuring the University's interests areeffectively represented throughout project execution.
• Provides construction management oversight for capitalimprovement, renovation, and facility projects from constructionstartup through project closeout.
• Maintains compliance with contract requirements, projectobjectives, industry standards, and University expectations.
• Coordinates project activities with contractors, consultants,campus stakeholders, and regulatory agencies as necessary.
• Ensures projects are delivered with minimal disruption tocampus operations and activities.

PROJECT SCHEDULING, RESOURCES & CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION -25%

• Manages project schedules and monitors construction progress tosupport timely completion of contracted work.
• Evaluates contractor and consultant staffing levels andresource allocations to ensure adequate support for projectrequirements.
• Monitors material procurement, fabrication, and equipmentdelivery schedules to mitigate project delays.
• Interprets, administers, and enforces contract requirementsduring the construction phase.
• Identifies project risks and coordinates appropriate correctiveactions to maintain project objectives.

TECHNICAL REVIEW, COMPLIANCE & QUALITY ASSURANCE -20%

• Reviews construction plans, specifications, submittals, andequipment selections for compliance with project requirements andindustry standards.
• Monitors construction activities to ensure adherence tobuilding codes, engineering practices, safety requirements, andUniversity standards.
• Assists in evaluating technical issues and recommendingsolutions during project execution.
• Conducts project inspections and reviews to support qualitystandards and successful project outcomes.
• Ensures completed work aligns with approved project plans,specifications, and contractual obligations.

ANALYSIS, PROBLEM SOLVING & DECISION SUPPORT - 15%

• Performs analyses and assignments that support the Engineering,Construction, and Design function.
• Investigates routine and complex project issues and developsrecommendations to facilitate effective decision-making.
• Evaluates alternative solutions using professional experience,sound judgment, and applicable precedent.
• Provides technical guidance and recommendations to supportproject success and operational objectives.
• Contributes to continuous improvement efforts that enhanceproject delivery and workflow efficiency.

COMMUNICATION & COLLABORATION - 10%

• Communicates complex technical and project information to avariety of audiences, ensuring understanding and alignment.
• Builds collaborative relationships with contractors,consultants, University personnel, and other stakeholders.
• Facilitates discussions regarding project scope, schedule,budget, and construction-related challenges.
• Coordinates information sharing among project participants tosupport informed decision-making and project transparency.

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work is performed in both office and active construction siteenvironments with frequent interaction with contractors,consultants, University personnel, and project stakeholders. Theposition requires regular walking, standing, climbing stairs,navigating construction sites, and conducting field inspectionsacross campus facilities. Work may involve exposure to varyingweather conditions, construction noise, dust, and othersite-related environmental conditions. The role requires theability to review technical documents, plans, specifications, andproject reports while managing multiple priorities simultaneously.The position involves sustained analytical thinking,problem-solving, communication, and decision-making in support ofcomplex construction projects.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not typically supervise full-time staff.Provides functional oversight and project coordination forconsultants, contractors, vendors, and project teams involved inassigned construction projects. Monitors project performance andcompliance with contract requirements, schedules, qualitystandards, and project objectives. May provide guidance andtechnical expertise to departmental personnel and projectstakeholders as needed.

Shift

40 hours/week. Monday thru Friday. Additional hours and/ orweekends may be required during peak operating times.

Minimum Qualifications

'A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education andexperience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparableknowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary. Licensure may be required.'

Anticipated Hiring Range

$60,944 - $83,560
