AKN INTERIORS
Construction Project Manager
Location: Bethel Park, PA (Regular travel to residential project sites throughout the Greater Pittsburgh area.)
Lead Remarkable Remodels from Demolition to Final Walkthrough
AKN Interiors is a fast-growing design-build remodeling company specializing in kitchens, bathrooms, basements, whole-home renovations, and additions throughout Greater Pittsburgh. Our in-house designers and construction professionals work together to deliver carefully planned, highly detailed projects and an exceptional homeowner experience. We are building an organized, accountable team where strong communication and quality execution are valued at every stage.
AKN Interiors is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to take ownership of residential remodeling projects once they move into production. You will turn a fully scoped and purchased pre-construction package into completed work that meets AKN Interiors' quality standards and follows the schedule established by the Director of Construction.
You will be the primary day-to-day contact for the homeowner during construction and the central connection between the office, field employees, and subcontractors. This position combines office coordination with regular jobsite leadership. You will not be expected to perform trade work, purchase materials, price projects, or establish the master schedule. Your focus will be clean execution, proactive communication, quality control, and a client who feels supported throughout the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage assigned remodeling projects from the start of production through punch list, client walkthrough, and closeout.
- Run jobsites against the phase schedule established by the Director of Construction.
- Sequence work and coordinate field employees, subcontractors, inspections, and project activities.
- Serve as the primary client contact throughout construction.
- Provide regular, proactive updates so clients never need to chase the company for information.
- Maintain strong communication between clients, subcontractors, field employees, designers, and office leadership.
- Monitor workmanship and protect AKN Interiors' quality standards throughout every phase.
- Identify and document changes in scope before additional or altered work begins.
- Initiate the change-order process and hold changed work until written approval is received.
- Escalate subcontractor performance, material, scheduling, or field concerns before they become emergencies.
- Notify the Director of Construction promptly when project milestones are completed.
- Maintain accurate project updates, documentation, photographs, and communication in JobTread.
- Generate and manage punch lists, conduct client walkthroughs, and drive remaining items to completion.
- Prepare completed projects for final quality review and client acceptance.
- Help deliver projects without last-minute surprises, preventable rework, or unapproved scope creep.
Qualifications
- At least 10 years of experience in residential construction or remodeling.
- At least three years of experience in a construction project management, production management, superintendent, or comparable leadership role.
- Significant residential kitchen and bathroom remodeling experience is required.
- Strong understanding of residential construction sequencing, trade coordination, quality control, and jobsite operations.
- Ability to read architectural plans, engineering drawings, specifications, and detailed design documentation.
- Proven ability to communicate professionally with homeowners, employees, subcontractors, designers, and company leadership.
- Experience identifying scope changes and supporting a formal change-order process.
- Strong scheduling, organization, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with construction project management software such as JobTread, Buildertrend, CoConstruct, or a comparable platform.
- Comfortable working in a technology-forward company and learning new systems.
- Ability to manage multiple active projects while maintaining consistent communication and follow-through.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Professional, calm, and proactive approach to resolving field and client concerns.
- Able and willing to visit multiple job sites throughout the day, as needed.
Pay and Benefits
- Full-time, W-2 employment
- Competitive compensation based on experience.
- Company health insurance plan with a substantial employer contribution.
- 401(k) with company matching.
- Two weeks of paid time off annually, including one flexible week and the company's scheduled holiday closure between Christmas and New Year's.
- Company-provided fuel card for approved work-related travel between project sites.
- Technology and systems that support organized project management.
- Opportunity to work with dedicated in-house designers, trained construction leaders, and experienced trade professionals.
- Career growth within a rapidly expanding design-build remodeling company.
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, with occasional early morning, evening, or weekend site visits as project schedules require.
